Sculptor Profile:
Caroline Inckle’s work explores a material relationship with the world through both image making and sculpture. Often beginning with walking, collecting and engaging physically with natural objects and environments as a process of orientation, she then goes on to use imagery and documentation from the collecting and making process to create drawings, prints and sculptural installations. Her work is influenced by the idea of making as both a developmental process and a meditative practice, a point of connection and integration between the body and the world, with physical and conceptual constructions forming an extended anatomy linking the physical and the environmental.
